The Swindon School of Brass was set up in 1995 as part of the Swindon Pegasus committment to promoting brass playing among the younger generations. The band rehearses on a Wednesday evening:

As players progress, there is a clear line into the senior band, and many members of Pegasus are members of Swindon youth bands past and present. We provide a unique opportunity to continue to develop by becoming part of one of Wiltshire's top bands once players have outgrown the challenges of youth and lower section bands.

During its history, Swindon Pegasus Brass has had several training bands. During the 70s and 80s there was a strong youth movement under the auspices of the "Swindon BR B Band". In more recent times the School of Brass was set up, and recently celebrated it's 10th anniversary.
