School of Brass

New learners and returners of any age are welcome at Swindon Pegasus School of Brass. We rehearse in the band hall on Saturday mornings and provide free instruments and tuition. We do a number of concerts through the year independently and together with Pegasus. Volunteer tutors from Pegasus and other local bands lead and support the sessions.

The emphasis is on enjoying music making while developing the lifetime skills of playing an instrument. Many progress through to Pegasus or take those skills with us into other musical groups and it is a sure passport to finding like minds and camaraderie wherever you are in the world.

The Swindon School of Brass was set up in 1995 as part of the Swindon Pegasus committment to promoting brass playing among the younger generations.

As players progress, there is a clear line into the senior band, and many members of Pegasus are members of Swindon youth bands past and present. We provide a unique opportunity to continue to develop by becoming part of one of Wiltshire's top bands once players have outgrown the challenges of youth and lower section bands.

If you, your children or pupils would like to find out more about the School of Brass, please get in touch with us, or come along on a Saturday morning. We look forward to hearing from you
